Prosser is a destination for many in the Northwest. Attractive offices, stores, services and residential developments have contributed to a new level of vibrancy, while retaining a small town feel that appeals to residents and visitors alike. Many people live, or are within walking or biking distance of downtown. Strategic public and private investments are creating a true multidimensional cultural center with several new and expanded public amenities, truly a community poised to have it all.
Many cultural events take place during the year as pairings of Art, Wine, Food and Music are combined throughout the community. Visitors are encouraged to park in the conveniently located Visitor & Information Center's Depot parking facility, walking throughout the downtown area. While pedestrian and bicycle access is encouraged there is plenty of vehicular access.
Prosser is located in the lush Yakima Valley and celebrates its rich agricultural heritage with many world-class wineries and vineyards. Our 25+ local wineries are the heart of Washington Wine Country. They welcome and encourage you to taste the results of the distinctive fruit grown in the Yakima Valley, Horse Heaven Hills and Columbia Valley American Viticultural Areas. Sample local fresh fruits, vegetables, condiments and sweets complemented by the perfect wines.
Why Prosser? Click & see for yourself.

"Art From Your Heart"
Last summer when Laura Wells was visiting Prosser, the California girl fell in love... with Prosser that is. She knew she had to be here. It felt right. It felt like home. It also felt like a place she could start a new business in and would be immediately embraced. Right on all accounts. In January Laura opened the doors of "Art From Your Heart", a uinque pottery shop where you are the artist.
That's right, patrons of "Art From Your Heart" actually create their own pottery. From plates to cups, figurines to nik-naks, Laura has a great variety of pre-cast pieces, ready for the kiln... all they need is your creative imagination and a paint brush.
"Art From Your Heart" is perfect for the accomplished artist or beginner. "Alot of my customers haven't been in art class for 20 years. But with our products, templates, and tracable designs, anyone can create fun, great looking pottery." Wells offer classes in different painting and glazing techniques and at convenient times of the week for parents and kids alike. She also plans parties for birthdays, family nights, "girls night out" and more.
Other local businesses are getting into the act as well. Willow Crest Winery has recently ordered a number of wine-related pieces for sale in their tasting room. "I'm really excited about working with the wineries to help promote their business" said Wells. "This kind of networking helps both of our businesses to grow" |
